The Ignatian Volunteer Corps
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) partners with nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving those on the margins of society. The IVC engages volunteers over 50 to apply their knowledge, skills, and experience to building the capacity of nonprofits. Volunteers commit to one or two days of service per week over the course of ten months.
Not only does IVC provide training and support to its service corps members, but it also fosters community-building among volunteers and creates opportunities for spiritual reflection. The IVC is a natural extension of careers spent contributing to the Jesuit mission and ministry.
IVC chapters across the country are led by regional directors, who identify partner agencies, determine the needs to be met, and facilitate the match between volunteers and partners.
Virtual volunteer opportunities exist with IVC. Whether you’re living in a rural area, managing mobility challenges, located outside of our regional office geographic boundaries, or simply prefer to serve remotely, IVC Virtual opens the door to faith-driven service and spiritual community online.
Through IVC Virtual, adults 50 and older can use their professional experience, compassion, and time to serve nonprofit organizations across the country, all while engaging in monthly reflection and connecting with like-minded volunteers. It’s a chance to bring your gifts to those in need, without leaving home. For more information or to apply, visit the IVC website.
